This workshop is about all of us. It deals with the inter-relation between two parts within us: the aggressor and the victim. The workshop is a dynamic, active unmasking process using psychodrama, sociometry and expressive arts therapy methods in order to explore the different ways we internalize experiences in the role of the aggressor and the victim.

We all learn both these roles in our family and social lives. Some of us tend towards one role more than the other. In my life experience I encountered people who are aggressive towards themselves through alcohol, drug abuse, over eating, under achieving, over working and other self abusive strategies. This is usually the result of growing up with criticism and judgmental emotional atmosphere.

We become unwilling victims of ourselves. We create inner enemies. This kind of development can affect our relationships with others. Self aggression manifests itself subtly at times as self denial, lack of self gratification, lack of self respect and even as self destructiveness. This workshop can become a starting point in changing this attitude.

About Yaacov Naor, MA CAGS TEP
Yaacov is the Founder and Director of ISIS ISRAEL: a Psychodrama and Intermodal Expressive Arts Therapy Center in Tel-Aviv. He is a certified therapist and trainer in these fields and has been teaching in these areas in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and Israel for the last 30 years. Since 1986 he has been leading special psychodramatic dialogue groups for second and third generation Holocaust survivors together with young Germans, and between Palestinians and Israelis.
